Proudfoot — Website Redesign and Sub-Brand Development

Overview:
Proudfoot is a film production company known for producing high-quality, beautifully crafted films for a diverse range of clients. The website required a comprehensive redesign to align with contemporary web technologies and user expectations, while maintaining and extending the existing brand identity.

Project goals:
  • Modernise the site to work seamlessly across desktop, tablet, and mobile
  • Maintain and strengthen Proudfoot’s brand identity
  • Provide insight into Proudfoot’s filmmaking process and demonstrate the value they bring to clients from concept to delivery
  • Showcase their ethos and reputation through accessible content
  • Redesign ‘The Frame’, a section dedicated to viewing Proudfoot films, incorporating complex filtering for a large video library and a complementary sub-identity


The process for the site re-design and sub-brand development is outlined below:


1. Discovery and Research:
  • Analysed existing website structure and content
  • Studied competitor platforms and contemporary film production websites
  • Defined user journeys for prospective clients and general visitors


2. Information architecture and wireframing:
  • Developed responsive wireframes for multiple screen sizes
  • Designed filtering and navigation systems to support complex video content in ‘The Frame’
  • Ensured a logical, user-friendly content hierarchy



3. Visual Design & Brand Extension:
  • Translated Proudfoot’s ethos and cinematic style into a modern digital interface
  • Developed typography, colour schemes, and UI elements consistent with the existing brand
  • Created a sub-identity for ‘The Frame’, visually aligned yet distinctive to support its standalone purpose
